COBBOLD, Jessie Harriet
Jessie Harriet Cobbold was born at The Fountains, Ipswich on 18 July 1854 and baptised at St Clement's Church, Ipswich, daughter of Alfred Cobbold (1813-3 November 1882), a solicitor, and his wife Frances Elizabeth née Worship (1821-19 January 1879). Jessie was a sister of Fanny Georgina Cobbold and was a member of Ipswich Art Club 1875-1876 and exhibited in 1876 a 'Still Life'. In 1881, she was living with an uncle Revd Thomas Preston at The Vicarage, Swaffham Prior, Norfolk, but in the same year she is listed at the Ipswich Art Club from Bramford, Ipswich and continued to be listed until 1883, but does not seem to have exhibited again. In 1901, living at Cobbold Road, Felixstowe. Jessie Harriet Cobbold died at 'Stokesby', Barton Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk on 23 January 1925, aged 70, she was unmarried.
